Best Way to Clean Copper Jewelry With Labradorite (SAFE METHOD)
1. Prepare a gentle cleaning solution
Mix:
- 1 cup warm water
- 1–2 drops mild dish soap (like Dawn)
Do NOT use lemon juice, vinegar, ketchup, or anything acidic — these can damage labradorite’s polish.
2. Clean the copper carefully
- Dip a soft microfiber cloth into the soapy water.
- Gently wipe the copper parts of the jewelry.
- Avoid soaking the entire piece — labradorite should not be submerged for long periods.
3. Clean around the stone
- Use a soft toothbrush or cotton swab.
- Dip in the same mild soapy solution.
- Gently clean around the bezel or wire wrap.
- Avoid scrubbing the stone directly.
5. Rinse quickly
- Lightly rinse under cool water for 1–2 seconds only, keeping the stone exposure minimal.
- Pat dry immediately with a soft cloth.
6. Polish the copper safely
- Use a polishing cloth specifically for copper (Sunshine cloths are perfect).
- Rub only the metal parts.
- Avoid touching the labradorite with the polishing compounds.
⚠️ Do NOT use:
- Tarnish dips
- Acidic cleaners
- Salt + vinegar solutions
- Baking soda scrubs
- Ultrasonic cleaners
- All can damage or dull labradorite.
